Note: Once a Service Plan is assigned to an asset, it cannot be modified except for the warning period even after it has been unassigned. We recommend to first spend some time mapping out your different service plans and double check they are correct before assigning them to any assets.
How do I create a service plan?
You need to be an account Admin to create a service plan. Read more about user roles here
Service Management is available on the Evolve and Expand plans. Reach out to your Sales Representative for more information.
Log into Trackunit Manager
Click on the Service Management app (wrench icon on the left menu)
Click on the Plans tab
Click on Create service plan
Give your service plan a relevant name
Optional: You may upload any relevant documentation to the service plan by clicking on Upload documents
Click Add service to create a planned service
Give your planned service a relevant name
Select the desired service type from the drop down menu
Enter the value for when the service should be due in the Due at field
Optional actions:
You may enter a value in the Warning before field that will trigger an Upcoming status for the asset on the Overview tab when the asset reaches that threshold. The value is based on the service type (for example, for a distance service, the warning value will be based on distance)
Alternatively you may add a warning that is based on days in the field "Prediction Based Warning" (regardless of the service type).
Note: Prediction based warnings are tied to Service Prediction and is only available on Leap & Expand plans.
You may add conditions (one of each service type) within the same planned service so that the service status on the asset will be triggered by whichever service due value the asset reaches first
You may use the recurrent service toggle to automatically schedule the next service when the previous service has been completed
For recurrent services, you can either set the schedule to be fixed or offset. A fixed schedule will be due according to the Due Every value regardless of when the last service was completed. An offset schedule will start the counter for the next services from when the last service was logged
Note: A recurrent “Calendar” service will always be offset.
You can add multiple planned services in a single service plan by clicking Add services
10. Once you have built out your service plan, click Create
How do I edit or customize a service plan?
Modifying a service plan has certain limitations once it is assigned to an asset or when the plan is made visible to other accounts in your service network. This is to avoid any complications with the machine insights when a service plan is active. You can either edit or customize a service plan, however edit rights are only available for the account that has created the service plan.
When you have created your plan and before it is assigned to the asset, you have the opportunity to edit the plan in its entirety. Once a service plan has been assigned to an asset, you can only edit the name of the service plan, names of your services, and upload/remove documents from the plan.
