Manage Portal templates

Learn how to set up reusable Portal templates that you can use for multiple customers.

Portals are available as an add-on for IrisX subscriptions. Contact your Trackunit representative for details.

Portal templates let you reuse the same portal configuration across multiple customers. A template includes the apps, Home, and branding that will be applied when creating a Portal.

Create a portal template

To create a template:

  1. Go to the Administration page

  2. Open the Portal Template tab

  3. Click on New Template in the upper-right corner

  4. Enter a name and description for the template

  5. (Optional) Set the template as default

💡 Tip: When you set a template as default, it is preselected when you create a Portal for a customer using templates. You can always choose one of the non-default templates as well.

The system also automatically assigns the default template when you create a customer portal via the API

  6. Follow the portal setup flow and decide which features, branding, and add-ons customers can access when they are invited through this template.

Note: Branding & Themes must be set up before hand, and cannot be created as part of the template flow. See how to set up branding here

Note: Updating a template’s branding, pages, or homes updates all related Portals. You will see a warning before you apply these changes.
