Configure the Telematics Device Alert to get notified when there may be irregularities with your device, allowing you to address the issue before any significant downtime occurs.
There are a few different parameters available for you to configure for your telematics device alert:
Telematics Device Power Supply: Use this alert to get notified if there is a significant loss of power which could indicate improper wiring or potential theft (cut wires)
This alert is available for Trackunit Raw devices
Device is opened: This alert is triggered when the light sensor has been exposed to light which happens when the cover of the device has been removed. This could indicate misuse or possible theft of the device
This alert is available for Trackunit Raw devices
Telematics Device Battery Percentage: Use this alert to know when the battery health drops below a certain threshold
This alert is available for Trackunit Raw and Trackunit Spot devices
No GPS data received for: This alert will trigger if GPS data has not been received for the specified number of hours or days
No data received for: This alert indicates that no data has been received for the specified number of hours or days
Bluetooth device battery is low: This alert is specific Trackunit Kin tags to indicate when battery is low to prompt you to replace the device before it stops transmitting data and potentially losing sight of the asset
Configure the severity of your alerts to see critical events in your attention list and on the status of your asset. Even if they are not critical, we will always record any triggered alerts and add them to your asset’s event log.
Set up a Telematics Device Alert in Trackunit Manager
Sign in to Trackunit Manager
Go to the Alerts app
Click Create new alert
Select Telematics Device Alert and click Next
Select if this should trigger a critical alert or a log
Select the desired parameter from the dropdown menu, for example: “Telematics Device Battery Percentage”
Select the condition of the alert (“is more than (>)” or “is less than (<)”)
Select a value that defines when the alert is triggered
Select the Entire Fleet, Selected groups or Specific assets you want to monitor and click Next
Optional: Select Subscribers (the people to be notified when the alert is triggered) and click Next
Enter the name of the alert
Review the alert configuration and click Create alert
