How do I use the audit logs in Trackunit Manager?

Audit logs are an additional layer of protection to help you safeguard your fleet by giving insight into events and changes to your fleet.

You must be an account admin to access Audit logs. Read more about user roles here

Automated audit logs outline the most important events and changes applied to your fleet and remove the need for time-consuming manual data extracts.


Where do I find the Audit Logs?


Log into Trackunit Manager

  1. Click on administration

  2. ​​​​​​​Select audit logs

  3. Use the “filter” icon on the top left corner to chose the filters you want to display in the top row. You select and deselect a filter by clicking it in the drop-down list

  4. Use the filters to drill down further by using the search function or selecting from the list

How do I read the Audit Logs?

Click on an event in the list to open it and see the details.

  1. User: See who performed the action. Click the name to add it as a filter on your list and see actions performed by this user. Click the clipboard icon to copy the user name to your clipboard.

  2. Account: See what user/account performed the action. Click the clipboard icon to copy the account name to your clipboard.

  3. Timestamp: See when the action was performed.

  4. Category: See the category the action falls under. Click the category name to add that category to your filters. Click the clipboard icon to copy the category to your clipboard.

  5. Entity: See what entity was manipulated in this action. Click the entity name to add the entity as a filter on you list. Click the clipboard icon to copy the entity name to your clipboard.

  6. Client ID: See what service the action was done in

The Operation section displays data specific to the audit log in question. This can hold anything. For the current example with “API User deleted”, it’s the following:

  1. Username: Username of the deleted API user

  2. Customer: Customer ID of the deleted API user

  3. Deleted User: User ID of the deleted API user
