How do I share visibility of my assets?

Learn how to share visibility of assets with other connected accounts.

You need to be account admin or fleet admin to share visibility

With this feature, you can:

  • Share data from an asset between two accounts

  • Give visibility, but not ownership - ensuring the asset's data is not altered by others

Note: It is only possible to transfer ownership of assets within your own account hierarchy (except for assets equipped with a Kin unit)

Grant asset visibility to an account

Share data from your assets while ensuring that ownership is tied to your account. Sharing visibility makes it possible to grant temporary or permanent asset visibility to other parts of your organization.

You need to be the owner of an asset in order to share its visibility with another account.

Log into Trackunit Manager

  1. Go to the Administration app

  2. Navigate to the Ownership and Visibility tab

  3. Select one or multiple assets you wish to share visibility of

  4. In the top right corner, press the Share button

  5. Follow the guided flow in the pop-up dialog

    • Select the account you want to grant visibility to

    • If you select an account outside your account hierarchy, you will receive a prompt to acknowledge that the assets will not be visible on the selected account until accepted by the recipient account

    • Make sure to review that everything you have selected looks right before you proceed

  6. Click Confirm

Unshare visibility of an asset

If a connected account no longer needs visibility into assets on your Trackunit Manager account you can unshare visibility.

Log into Trackunit Manager

  1. Go to the Administration app

  2. Navigate to the Ownership and Visibility tab

  3. In the top bar, click on the Visible to filter

  4. Select an account you want to unshare assets with

  5. Select the assets you want to unshare with that account

  6. Click Unshare and make sure to review that everything you have selected looks right before you proceed.

  7. Press the Confirm button

Once the unshare is successful, a green confirmation box will pop up in the bottom right of your screen.
