Editing the mileage and hours of my device

Here is how you edit the reported mileage and hours of your device in Trackunit Manager and in Verify.

If you need to correct the mileage or hours of a device, you can do so by following the steps below. This is useful when the recorded values do not match the actual usage.

In addition, If you are changing the data source of your device from NON-CAN to CAN (or vice versa), you may need to manually adjust the mileage and hours to ensure accuracy.

You can edit milage and hours in three different ways:

  • Using Trackunit Manager.

  • Using Verify

Note:

Only Fleet Admins or Admins can edit mileage and hours. Read more about user roles and permissions, here

If you are unable to edit the milage and hours of your device, contact your administrator for assistance.

Any edits will be logged for audit purposes.

Edit the mileage and hours of your device in Trackunit Manager

  1. Log into Trackunit Manager

  2. Click on the Asset app from the side navigation bar

  3. Search for the device or the asset using the search bar or browse the asset list

  4. Click on the asset



    💡 Tip: Alternatively, you can find the device you want to update by going to the

    Administration App --> Devices, and clicking on the device from the device list.


  5. On Asset home, click on the Telematics tab on the left-side menu

  6. Scroll down to the Advanced Configuration section

  7. Enter the correct data under Adjusted insights for Operating hours, Productive hours or Distance (in kilometre).

  8. Click Save to confirm the changes

Note:

Operating Hours: The total time a machine is powered on and available for use, regardless of whether it is actively performing work. This includes idle time, warm-up periods, and operational pauses.

Productive Hours: The time a machine is actively engaged in performing its intended task, such as excavating, lifting, or grading. This excludes idle time, maintenance, and standby periods.

Adjusted Insight (Hours): A calculated value that modifies Operating Hours by applying an offset to better reflect actual machine utilization.


💡 Tip: To reset the mileage or hours, enter 0 in Adjusted Insights, and the offset will be automatically calibrated.


After saving, make sure that the updated values are correctly displayed in the Advanched Configuration section. Changes may take up to 10 minutes to appear under the Insights tab.

Edit the mileage and hours of your device using Verify

If you are using Verify instead of Trackunit Manager, you can also edit the milage and hours of your device using Verify:

  1. Use your Trackunit Manager account details to sign in

  2. Enter the Serial Number of your device and click Find

  3. Enter the new mileage in Distance offset in km/miles and/or hours in Engine hours

  4. Click Save to save the change

Note: Mileage reported in Manager Classic will add to the mileage reported in Verify.
