Read this article to get started with the Fit app. Learn all you need to know about the home page and your account settings in the Fit app.

Overview of the Fit app

The Fit app is designed to capture installation information at time of install. The Fit app allows installers to validate wiring connections of the telematics device install, and capture installation images & metadata, certifying the installation.

The Fit app is only compatible with iOS devices at this time.

Downloading and logging into the Fit app

  1. Open the Fit App once the download is complete.

  2. Click Sign In and enter in your Trackunit Manager credentials.

If you have forgotten your password, enter your username, and then click Forgot Password. You will receive an email to the email address connected to the username, prompting you to create a new password for your account.

Selecting a Customer

Start the use of the Fit app by selecting a customer for which you need to perform an installation or repair.

Displayed at the top of the app on the Homepage, is the option to select the customer or account name

  1. Locate the account name: At the top of the Homepage, you will see the option to select a customer or account name.

  2. Choose the account: Click on the Account Name. This will open a list of customers. Select the customer or account for which you need to perform an installation or repair.

Note: You must select a customer or account to proceed with your work.

Your ability to access multiple customers or accounts depends on the accounts assigned to your install group or user profile. If you do not have access to a specific account, please contact us at installations@trackunit.com to request access.

Navigating the Fit app Homepage

From the Homepage, using the icons at the top of the page, you can:

  • Find Work: Browse through the list of available work orders that have been pre-loaded into the app.

  • Quick Scan: Use the automatic text reader to quickly scan a machine or VIN number on heavy equipment. This will instantly retrieve the relevant work order.

  • In Progress: Access any of your open or in-progress work orders to continue working on them.

  • Locations: Use the map to find nearby work order locations, including different customer sites and branch locations.

Homepage: Branch check-in

On the homepage, you can quickly navigate to find branches nearest to your location, or designated to you, for relevant work orders.

When clicking on the Find branches button on the Homepage, you will be brought to the Branch List page. This page will list all locations or branches for a particular customer. You can scroll through the list or use the search bar to search for a particular location.

After selecting a Branch location, from the Branch List, you will be brought to a screen displaying information on that particular Branch location, including:

  • Directions: the application will link the branch’s address to Apple Maps, providing you directions to the branch location.

  • Email Branch: the application will link to Apple’s Mail application, allowing you to contact the main contact on file

  • Location: the branch page will list the address and provide a map view of the branch location.

  • Available Work: the branch page will list all available work orders at a particular location for review. Click the See All button next to the Available Installs section will pull up a list of all relevant work orders for that particular Branch location.

Homepage: Tools

The homepage also provides you shortcuts to relevant functionality supporting a work order. From the bottom half of the home page, you can navigate to:

  • Equipment list: List of all the equipment that requires installation or repair work for a particular customer, allowing you to browse the summary of work by make or machine type

  • History: List of all completed install or repair work orders that you have completed for a particular customer

  • Service Records: List of all Service Records (installation or repair work) for a particular customer; This section enables you to browse summary of available work at various branch locations, by service status or service type

  • Guides: Access specific Make & Model installation guides for TU devices (where applicable)

Account Settings

Lastly, the icon at the top right corner of the app, allows you to navigate to the following account information:

  • Organization: View and edit your organizations

  • Support: Direct link to Trackunit support by email or phone for assistance

  • Measurement System: Set your app to track distance measurements in the app using the Metric or Imperial system.

  • Switch between ‘Metric’ and ‘Imperial’ distance calculations here on the app, allowing you to capture any offsets in distances calculated for on-road vehicles. All measurements captured using the ‘Imperial’ system are converted to kilometers in our system.
