How does Utilization for Kin and Spot work?

Utilization allows you to better understand your fleet. Learn how to read the utilization data that is gathered by Kin and Spot devices.

Updated over a week ago

Trackunit Kin and Trackunit Spot collect accumulated movement data which is reporting into Trackunit Manager as utilization data. Trackunit Kin devices transmit data when they are within range of a mobile device running the Trackunit Go mobile app or a Trackunit Raw device. Trackunit Spot devices transmit data themselves itself.

You can find the utilization data on the status page of Asset Home.

In the table below you can see a sample of how utilization data is displayed based on different reporting scenarios:

  • Reporting scenario 2: Trackunit Kin/Spot has reported, but no movement has been detected.

  • Reporting scenario 3: Trackunit Kin/Spot has not reported daily, and movement data is distributed across the indicated time period.
