The Emissions Overview Dashboard provides a clear and comprehensive view of key environmental metrics. It tracks CO2 emissions, fuel and power consumption, and asset operating hours.
Additionally, it highlights trends in emissions, carbon intensity, and identifies the highest-emitting assets.
This dashboard includes several essential functionalities, such as:
Filtering Options: Customize data views based on specific criteria.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Cards: Monitor critical emission-related metrics at a glance.
Widgets: Graphs and charts that simplify complex data for easy interpretation
Together, these features help you analyze emissions patterns, identify inefficiencies, and make informed decisions to reduce environmental impact.
Filtering Options
You can refine the data displayed on the dashboard by applying and adjusting filters. These filtering options help tailor the dashboard view to focus on the most relevant data for your analysis.
By default, the Last 12 Months filter is applied on the top-right side of the dashboard. You can click on the drop down menu and select one of the following date ranges:
Last 12 Months
Last 30 Days
Last 7 Days
Yesterday
You can also select "Custom date range" and type in any date range you'd like.
Click the Filters button to open the list of filtering options. Click on each filter to select the values that are relevant for you. You can apply multiple filters.
Once you have added a filter, it will appear next to the Filters button. Click Reset Filters to remove all the filters you have selected. You can also click on the individual filter to deselect it and remove it.
Note: Applying filters will not affect the Assets card on the right side of the Overview Dashboard. The number on the Asset card reflects the total number of assets that are reporting emissions, regardless of any selected filters.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Cards
At the very top of the Overview Dashboard, you will see four KPI cards
CO2 Emissions Produced: The total CO2 emissions generated by assets.
Fuel Consumed: The total fuel consumption of assets.
Power Consumed: The total power consumption of assets.
Operating Hours: The total operating hours of assets.
Each card provides key insights using the following elements:
Quantity
Displays the total quantity in the selected unit of measurement. You can switch between Metric and US Customary system of measurement in your profile settings. Large values are automatically converted to higher units (e.g., grams to kilograms).
Comparison to Previous Period
The card also shows the change compared to the previous period, including both the numerical difference and the percentage change. A trend indicator highlights the result in green for positive changes and red for negative changes.
Understand the Widgets on the Overview Dashboard
On the Overview Dashboard, you will see five widgets that will help visualize your numbers.
CO2 Emissions Trend:
The default view is a stacked area line chart that visualizes CO2 emissions over the selected time period. You can switch to a bar chart if preferred. The chart highlights emissions from both fuel and electricity and includes an average emissions indicator (the orange line).
Carbon Intensity
This widget displays the current carbon intensity for the selected time period, comparing CO2 emissions over operating hours.
Power Type
Power Type is displayed in a pie chart broken down into power types over a given time frame, based on applied filters. Power types are grouped into various fuel types and electric.
Note: "Unknown" will be shown for assets with unknown Engine Fuel Type metadata. You can update the engine fuel type data of your asset by selecting the asset from the Assets page --> Specifications --> Edit --> Manage Custom Fields --> Select Engine Fuel type
--> Select from the drop down --> Save
Top and Low Emitters by Type
These two charts will show you which asset types emit the most CO2 and which asset types emit the least CO2.
💡 Tip: You can click on any of the bars to see all the individual assets of that specific type. To see the charts by type again, scroll to the top of the page and remove the filter for type.
